New kit for Blandford Blues

U11 local team Blandford Blues have been presented with their new football kit, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Iracroft.

The new team kit was presented to Adam Day, coach for the Blandford Blues Under 11’s, along with one of the squad members by Iracroft MD Darren Colley.

We asked Adam to say a few words about the team, who are in the Dorset Youth Leagues, Top league Pool A:

the coming year will be a new adventure as we have transitioned from a 7v7 format to 9v9, which is something for the team to look forward too.  Last season was a bit of a wash out with bad weather and then Covid19.  However this season has started really well in the new kit, winning the first two matches 6-1 and 7-2.”

Adam went on:

Lockdown was tough on the boys, with our season cut short in March and only being able to return as an entire group in August. With no school as well, it meant the boys were delighted to see each other again at training and smiles were made even bigger when we handed out a brand new kit for them. They even have their own choice of numbers on the back, including randomly 77 and 89!

Iracroft also sponsor U13’s team Ringwood Town, who play in the Bournemouth League. They had a fantastic season prior to lockdown, and were top of the league when everything came to a halt.

When play resumed, the Ringwood boys finished top of their group and won their quarter final in an extra time battle to make the semi-finals. Unfortunately they weren’t able to battle past a very well schooled Poole Town team who subsequently went on to win the tournament.

This was an amazing achievement by the boys.

We wish both teams the best of luck for the coming season.
